Track league entry fees for 2013 shall be:

Seniors £8 per week
Juniors £6 per week
Youths £5 per week

Season tickets offering significant discounts are also available and can be signed up for on the Season Ticket page.

A further announcement on the start date of the 2013 track season shall be made shortly.

Announcing his retirement from competitive cycling, Britains most successful Olympian, reflected upon the impact the local cycling facility in Edinburgh had on sending him on his way towards Olympic glory.

“Whilst it’s amazing to have this multi-million-pound facility in Glasgow, you don’t want to forget Meadowbank. I’d not be here without that facility,” he pointed out. “It’s not like we are asking for a similar facility to Glasgow here in Edinburgh, but somewhere to train the elite riders which the school groups can come and use, a roof over a tin shed – that’s all they need.

“All the potential athletes’ parents are not going to make an hour journey to go to the velodrome [in Glasgow] two or three times a week on the off chance their son or daughter will enjoy it.

“Elite athletes will travel, but to make it attractive to potential cyclists . . . well, it’s not rocket science. Fingers crossed Edinburgh will continue to work on it.”

Edinburgh Council announced in February this year that they were embarking on a feasibility study to provide a cycling track at the Jack Kane Centre, Craigmillar, although it is thought that this is to be a large outdoor concrete track which is unlikely to fulfill the requirements for track cycling in Edinburgh. Hopefully the sound words of Sir Chris Hoy will be be heard in the City Chambers and the current plans amended to provide a basic indoor training facility.

Entries for the meeting shall open on 1 December 2012 and entry can be made via the British Cycling website to obtain substantial discounts over postal or on the day entry fees.

The 2013 meeting will also include derny racing and events for all abilities of riders over both days.

The entry for the Sprinters League and B Sprint competition remains open until 4 September and therefore the programme order is still subject to minor amendment.

Entries for the June event will automatically carried forward to the new date. Should any rider wish to withdraw their entry they can do so via the BC entry system or by contacting the organiser who shall arrange for the entry to be refunded. For events rescheduled, on the instructions of Scottish Cycling, new and additional entries will be permitted up to 14 days prior to the championship. Additional sprinters league entries will be permitted up to 3 days prior to the event. Regretably, it has not been possible to reschedule the non-championship events of the Keirin and Youth Omniums as there simply is not enough time in the day hold these events and priority must be given to completing the championship programme. Entries for these events shall be refunded within the next few days.

Scottish Cycling have not yet made a decision on whether to reschedule events where only 1 entry was received or where no entry was received. Should any decision be made to reschedule these events then this would be on another date and will definitely not be on 8 September. A further announcement will be made by Scottish Cycling once they have made a decision in relation to these events.

The table below details how each event shall be treated on an event by event basis.

 Finally, the organisation can only apologise for the period of time which has elapsed in being able to confirm the above while prolonged and unnecessarily protracted discussions took place with SC to obtain approval for the rescheduled championships.
